Central PA Man 'Seriously Hurt' In Hit-Run Outside Smorgasbord: Police

A 42-year-old man has been "seriously hurt" following a hit-and-run by a popular smorgasbord, police say.

East Lampeter Township police were called to "a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle" near Miller's Winery, Restaurant, and Smorgasbord in the 2800 block of Lincoln Highway East at 8:20 p.m. on September 19, 2022, the department stated in a release on Tuesday, Sept. 20. 

Upon arrival, police found Nathan C. Kipp, 42, of Ronks was "being treated by Gordonville Ambulance/EMS personnel," police say. "Kipp was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for serious injuries."

Through an investigation, officers learned Kipp was struck by a vehicle heading east as he was about to cross the highway on foot at 8:15 p.m.

"It is unknown at this time if Kipp was on the shoulder or had entered the travel lane when he was hit," police say.

The vehicle did not stop or return to the crash and police are unclear what type of vehicle hit Kipp.
